The Investment Research Team

The Investment Research team is the most rigorous and demanding division at GIS. We are a team of 25 Investment Analysts who work together to create thorough investment research reports on a variety of investments. We currently have four investment strategy teams, each specializing in a specific investment strategy. We believe that the best investors are able to approach investment opportunities from a diverse perspective. We expose our analysts to esoteric investment strategies because we believe it is an imperative step toward expanding complex, diverse, and unique perspectives for selecting opportunities, and pursuing a successful finance career.

Our Divisions

Generalist

Pure Alpha covers Long/Short domestic equities. Team members participate in an industry coverage rotation that focuses on the Media, Communications, Industrial, and Consumer Discretionary sectors.

Global Macro

Global Macro covers International Equities, Credit, Commodities, and Currencies. The focus of this team is to apply macroeconomic principles to identify future volatility across international trade and capital markets.

Special Situations

Special Situations covers investments across Credit, Equities, and Derivatives. The focus of this team is to identify relative value in asset markets relying upon downside protection principles, event-driven market conditions, and recovery opportunities.

Pure Alpha Healthcare covers Long/Short domestic equities. Team members analyze companies across biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, healthcare services, and biotechnology sectors, and demographic trends shaping long-term industry growth.
